Business Introduction to the VSA Sports Team Support Program

The VSA Sports Team Support Program allows participating businesses the ability to increase sales by targeting an active, affluent, and wide customer base, without the overhead, technology, and sales force that would be required to build a stand-alone sports support program.  And because the program rewards teams and organizations that actually support your business, you eliminate the cases where sports teams “promised” future support, but accepted your initial financial contribution but subsequently rarely patronized your business. The VSA program rewards participating organizations in a manner that is directly proportional to their support of your business.  VSA will partner with participating food/beverage businesses in each of six geographic areas – Peninsula (B1), Saanich (B2), Central/Downtown (B3), Gorge/Esquimalt (B4), West Shore (B5), and Sooke (B6). In each area, participation is limited to just two food/beverage businesses – one 19-plus establishment (bar/pub), and one all-ages restaurant.

  • Teams sign up at participating merchants using an entry form at the VSA entry box, or directly with VSA through the VSA website or contact with a VSA sales representative.

  • Team members, family, and friends earn for the team a portion (no less than 10% of pre-tax total) of every receipt turned in.

  • Teams are paid directly by each merchant after each month-end accounting period ends after the merchant is invoiced by VSA on behalf of the team or organization.

  • VSA uses its extensive database of sports organizations, leagues and teams in the Greater Victoria area to promote the team support program through direct contact, mailers and e-mail (no spam).

  • The program also gives participating business the ability to promote specials and events (such as Christmas parties and team meetings) to the member teams and organizations in an inexpensive manner.  Member merchants have access to contact information for every participating team/organization.

  • Each participating merchant can establish their own criteria for qualifying receipts turned in.
